Portfolio Website v4

My portfolio jouney

Introduction

This project is an ongoing one where I constantly upgrade my portfolio. It was once my web developer portfolio, but now it is for Tropdev, where I showcase my main business services in web development and application development.

Project Scope

The objective of this project is to showcase my skills, thoughts, and opinions on technology and my business, Tropdev.

It is targeted at anyone looking for web development services for a website or a full-stack web developer to create a functioning application. It is primarily aimed at small businesses and startups.

Technology Stack

I have developed four versions of my portfolio website:

  • First and Second Versions: Built using plain HTML and CSS. These were very basic implementations.

  • Third Version: Developed using Django, featuring a fully functional front-end/back-end CMS from scratch. This served as a refresher for me into full-stack development.

  • Fourth Version (Current): Built on Framer for faster development instead of reinventing the wheel. This transition allowed me to shift from a simple portfolio to a business website showcasing my services. It also includes a CMS for posting articles.

Methodology

The methodology behind my websites follows the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) principle. If a feature doesn’t need to be complex, I keep it simple. However, as a perfectionist, this is something I constantly struggle with.

Implementation Details

For hosting, I use AWS Lightsail. Additionally, I utilize the Framer paid version, which provides CMS functionality.

Future Work

As mentioned earlier, my portfolio/business website, Tropdev, will continue to evolve as my skills grow.
